Virtual Statue of Peace
A browser-based monument placed into physical space through AR. The desktop version is shown below, while the right side provides context and a route into the mobile AR experience.
This project responds to the removal of the Statue of Peace from public space in Moabit, Berlin. It considers how the statue can remain publicly accessible even after being removed from view. Through digital reconstruction and augmented reality, viewers can encounter the statue again in the place where it once stood.
The project is not about replacing the original, but about maintaining access to it and resisting its disappearance from public space.
The original Statue of Peace was not created by me. For the historical and political context of the monument, please refer to Korea Verband.
